Friends of Chipping Hill
The Friends of Chipping Hill are a group of parents who help to raise money for the school by organising enjoyable fundraising events throughout the school year.
- The fundraising events The Friends have organised in recent years include:
- Summer Fayre
- Quiz nights
- Discos
- Pantomime for the children
- Coffee mornings
We also fundraise by organising projects such as:
- Christmas cards designed by the children which can be purchased by parents
- Father Christmas letters
- Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts
- Bags2School
- Christmas raffle
These events help to buy additional items for the school to help keep it an ‘outstanding’ learning environment for all the pupils.
The children benefit from the many resources which the Friends have provided for the school:
- School library equipment
- The staging used for the Christmas and End of Year performances
- Leavers’ gifts
- Scooter pods
- Sports equipment e.g. netball posts Outside pond area
- Keyboards
- Class cameras
- Plus much more......
How can you help?
We meet each term and everyone is welcome to come along and bring their new and fresh ideas (or just come for the biscuits!). These meetings are informal get-togethers with staff reps in order to contribute ideas, discuss future events and how best to run them.
These fundraising events could not happen without parents volunteering to organise them, and as this normally occurs at the meetings, the more attendees the better. We need as many volunteers as possible so please come along to find out how you can help and support the school.
Please remember that no-one is expected to organise an event or task on their own so grab your friends and get volunteering!
We do understand that all parents are busy and cannot always attend meetings, which is why we are trying out having meetings on different days and times. Any help is much appreciated which may be organising a prize for the raffle or agreeing to help out for half an hour at a coffee morning – all help is gratefully received and contributes to The Friends being able to give back to our school.
If you have any ideas or wish to volunteer but cannot attend the meetings then please come and find one of us in the playground. Each class has two very approachable Friends representatives (names of reps are on the classroom doors). You can also post a message on the Facebook page or leave a message in the school office.
